Stayed at Duquesa Village for 1 week and our stay could not have been better. Traveled with my 3 children ages 19, 20, and 22. The apartment was lovely, quiet, and nicely situated with swimming pool nearby. Duquesa Beach and Puerto Duqesa were 3 min drive or 15 min scenic walk with several great bars and restaurants. Estepona, Marbella/Puerto Banus, Sotogrande, and Gibraltar were all within 20 minute drive. Most importantly Michelle and Alex were superb with communication and helpful tips. A special thanks to their agent, Mark, who was so helpful in getting us situated in the apartment. I highly recommend this apartment and will certainly be back in the future. Thanks again to Michelle and Alex.

Myself and husband and 2 young children stayed at Calanova Sea Golf in August 2013. From the moment we arrived it felt like home from home, cleanliness was excellent, rooms bright and spacious, the only small downside was that the cable/sky tv wasn't working, but apart from that we would really recommend to stay here. It's in a quiet residential area with a lovely community feel, Gordon the president of the community came by to welcome us as we sat by one of the many pools on offer. A car would be recommended.

Umberto Pietosi, August 2011

The apartment was beautiful and had everything we could have needed; it was a real home from home. It was situated a 5min drive from the beach and local town which was perfect. The apartment felt very secure with a security guard 24/7 at the main entrance. There was also secure underground parking. The swimming pools were immaculate and the baby splash pool was perfect for our 2 year old daughter. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

Firstly the owners are extremely helpful with everything, whatever your query they're bound to have the answer. The apartment had everything you could possibly need, on a practical level (dishwasher tablets, washing powders etc) and also DVD's, magazines, Inflatables and tons of local information. As far as we're concerned you'd need a car for the location, in the summer heat it was much too far to walk up and down to the port, it's a fair distance, especially with children. Taxis aren't very expensive though, so you could walk down of an evening and get a taxi back for not very much. If we hadn't had a car, that's what we would have done.
The pool area immediately below the apartment was kept very clean, as were the other pools, (there are 6 around and about) We only visited one other, they vary on how busy they are. There is no pool noise in the evening, even though you overlook one. There was a bit of noise from some Spanish residents/visitors, but this was intermittent and not a problem, my sister didn't even notice it.
The extras we liked were: The extensive local information; The shutters on the windows, shutting out all the light; The jet bath; The cupboard with essentials in it (Olive oil, salt, tea bags, etc) The Magazines and films; We didn't use them but there were hairdryers for use too; The air-conditioning; The secure underground Parking; The Decor; The very helpful & friendly owners. We didn't have any problems with it, but we were a bit anxious about the electricity being metered. We didn't know until we arrived, it is set to an amount for your stay and if you use more you can top it up with Euros. We had a reasonable amount left when we checked out, but I did keep looking at it.
It is a good base for a family holiday, around the pool. The other people we met, all had cars too. The location if you have a car is excellent for getting to almost anywhere, Gibraltar, Estepona, Puerto Banus and inland to Rhonda etc. We do wish we'd booked two weeks really!

We spent just over a week in Michelle & Alex's apartment in Puerto Duquesa. The booking process was very simple and Michelle sent over a lot of information about the area and the apartment prior to booking. The apartment itself had plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 1 child. It had everything we were looking for in terms of facilities and space. A lovely well equipped kitchen with plates, cups, bowls, cutlery, pans, salad bowls etc. 2 beautiful bathrooms and bedrooms and a lovely outside seating area where we sat to eat or have a drink before going out for meals. There are a number of well kept pool areas for swimming and sunbathing and just down the hill there are a couple of bars and small shops. The apartment is located about a 25-30 minute walk from Duquesa, it is on a fairly steep hill so the walk back from the marina takes a little longer. Duquesa marina has a wealth of restaurants and bars ranging from Italian, Chinese, Thai, Argentinian (beautiful steaks), Traditional Spanish etc so there is something for all tastes. There are a number of supermarkets nearby and a lovely beach. The only issues we had during our stay were a fault with the cistern in the main bathroom and the electric meter was set incorrectly and overcharging us. These issues were quickly resolved by Mark (apartment maintenance). Overall a wonderful holiday and we would highly recommend the apartment.

Katherine Stevenson, April 2011

We highly recommend this apartment and its helpful and friendly owners who provided us with lots of local knowledge, insights of where to visit and recommended several restaurants in the area. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped; the jacuzzi was a real bonus! Our balcony overlooked one of the shared pools which our children thoroughly enjoyed (on a daily basis!). We took a couple of day trips one to Casares a beautiful white town and also to the very fascinating town of Ronda. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return in the not too distant futureā€¦..Many thanks!

Juliet O'Brien, May 2011

This apartment overlooks the pool so it's fantastic to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening. Lots of villages nearby to visit. Duquesa has lots of lovely shops and restaurants. The market overlooks the beatiful sandy beach which has a wide promenade. Beautiful. Make sure you visit Duquesa marina at night. It's even more beautiful than in the daytime. Don't worry about packing too many clothes there is a washing machine which was so handy to just put a load on in the middle of the week. I am happy to recommend this holiday. You will need to hire a car but travelling around is really easy.

The Williams Family, August 2010

Hi Michelle
I would like to thank you for a fantastic apartment, facilities and the location at Duquesa Village, which made for a superb holiday. My son Ryan is now called 'The Fish' as he was hardly out of the pool and sea all week! We all had a fabulous stay there and the Puerto Duquesa area was stunning, with some great restaurants and bars at the harbour area, which we certainly made the most of!!! It is somewhere that we will definitely be considering returning to as a family again! All in all, a holiday to remember ... and a marvellous way to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday!

Jean & Anne Diascorn, August 2010

Hello Michelle
We spent a really good holiday in your wonderful apartment; very well equipped and well located to visit great places. We will of course suggest your apartment to our friends (they just need to speak some english!)

The Mullen Family, August 2010

Dear Michelle
We wanted to thank you for the fabulous and very relaxed time we had at your apartment in Duquesa Village. The kids really loved the pool and the quiet beaches were great to keep an eye on them. We really enjoyed the Straw Donkey and the owner's sense of humour!

Karen Swain & Family, July 2010

Dear Michelle
I would like to thank you and your husband for a lovely holiday my family had in your apartment in Duquesa Village. What a great place for families or couples, a real luxury home-from-home with all the little extras, which were very much appreciated. It was so nice to have the little things we take for granted at home but are never normally there when you rent an apartment. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Both you and your husband were very helpful and made booking the flights and car hire so easy. The directions you gave us were clear and very easy to follow - I have to say they are idiot proof if I could get there! The information booklet you provide in the apartment about the local amenities, shops, restaurants, etc was also extremely helpful. I would love to go back, or try your other apartment. I would highly recommend it to everyone - this was one of the best holidays we have ever had - my only regret is we only stayed for a week! Thank you very much from me, my children and my Mum. We loved it! (PS. We also loved the Straw Donkey restaurant!)

Hi Michelle
Back from a fabulous week at your lovely apartment - it's been brilliant! It was lovely to be somewhere so well-equipped with extras like a parasol for the beach, inflatables, hairdryer, washing machine and tablets, etc. We went to Casares on market day which was lovely, Gibraltar for the day and took a minibus tour which the boys really loved. They've never been in caves like that before and loved the apes (felt at home with them I think!). We've got some great pictures of them sitting on our shoulders. We went to Puerto banus for an evening which was an eye opener! The pool was great and never crowded. The grounds are beautifully kept and the flowers are gorgeous. The boys played tennis a couple of times and we generally lolled about a lot! So thank you very much - we've had a blast. I've been introduced to Mojitos by my 19 year old son - can't believe I've missed out on them for 46 years (!) and we've eaten tonnes of boquerronnes, olives and other lovely things. It was good to be there when Spain were still in the World Cup. Will certainly recommend your lovely apartment to friends and family!

Hi Michelle
Just returned from a week in your apartment in Duquesa. Just wanted to say a big thank you - the apartment was perfect and the location and the staff at the complex were brilliant, even the thunderstorms over the first weekend didn't dampen our spirits! Thank you again, we will certainly be recommending you to all our friends and family!

Glenda Evans, June 2009

Hi Michelle
Just a note to thank you for letting us use your apartment, it was more than we could have asked for - Stunning! The apartment is high above a golf course. In a quiet location, the surrounding grounds are well maintained. Loved the secure parking - want one myself at home. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard, every thing you need with lots of extras - a real home from home. Large comfortable leather sofas with a dining table for 6 people. All the furniture was matching and looked brand new. Sky TV was a bonus. A selection of DVD's and books were also available. The information pack left in the apartment is comprehensive. Kitchen was equipped with every thing you can think of and there was lots of hot water. 2 Bedrooms 1 double and 1 twin had comfortable beds with options of quilts, if required. Bedding all match and was excellent quality. 2 Bathrooms one with a spa bath and the other had a shower. Both were immaculately clean, neat and tidy. The balcony is large with comfortable furniture to enjoy your evening drinks, this is over looking the pool. There were plenty of sun beds surrounding the pool. The pool is very clean and well maintained. I will be recommending this apartment to all my family and friends and will be returning for a holiday again next year.

Mike & Pam, March 2009

Dear Michelle
Many thanks for letting us stay in your fabulous apartment. The weather was beautiful (hot & sunny in March!) and we really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace listening to nothing but the sound of birds tweeting. The apartment had all the comforts of home and we felt truly spoilt. It was wonderful to have a proper piping hot shower, rather than some of the cold dribbles you usually get in holiday accommodation. The location was ideal, relaxing and peaceful yet only a few minutes drive into the resort of La Cala. La Cala is lovely and we enjoyed taking coffee at the Watchtower square by the beach. We have fond memories of a holiday that went far too quickly, but we hope to makeup for it by returning to Calanova very soon. Thanks again.

Mr & Mrs Baskill, September 2008

Hi Michelle
We had a fantastic holiday at your Duquesa Village apartment. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We stayed with a small child and you had even provided plastic cups and plates. Everything was clean, tidy and in good working order. The standard of the furnishings was excellent. The poolside area was clean and safe and had a covered area which was great for little children to play under in the hot summer sun. A car is essential in this area as the apartment is at the top of a steep hill. Duquesa port is only 5 mins away in the car and is full of great places to eat and drink. Enjoy your holiday!

Nigel Pawson, August 2008

Dear Michelle
The excellent meet and greet service ensured that we knew all about the apartment, local and more distant areas, as well as where more details could be found - what a great idea the apartment manual is! Your attention to detail is superb, starting with a welcome bottle of wine and providing "freeview" UK TV, DVD player/ library, board games and pool/ tennis court toys. The apartment is well appointed with facilities and restaurants in the port, on the way to it and local supermarkets. It's ideal as a base for a family holiday, or golfing groups.

The Elphick Family, August 2008

Hi Michelle & Alex
We would like to thank you both for the opportunity of spending a week's holiday in your stunning apartment at Calanova Sea Golf. We couldn't fault anything, from landing at the airport, the meet and greet with your key holder, to collecting our hire car and your easy instructions to find the apartment - the whole process went so smoothly. The apartment was home-from-home and we couldn't want for anything more, other than our own butler! It was well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more and the washing machine was an added luxury. The pictures on your web site don't do the apartment justice. The views are just wonderful and there was nothing better that opening a bottle of wine in the evening, sitting on the balcony and taking in the stunning scenery, peace and tranquillity.
Laura used the swimming pool every day, which was very clean and safe and she made quite a few friends during our stay - it was hard for her when we left, she had such a good time. She was also very pleased to have UK Sky TV, as she was into the Olympics and could keep up with all the daily events. The apartment is in a great location for visiting the Costa del Sol. You can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the mountains, or within a 5 minute drive enjoy the restaurants, beach and night-life of La Cala and surrounding areas. One evening we went to a beautiful restaurant, 'Mijas Playa' in La Cala. Even though it was more expensive than your average restaurant, you paid for great quality of food and surroundings. We visited many places during our stay, including the beautiful village of Mijas, where we took a pony and trap ride around the town and enjoyed the many quaint shops off the main street. With a great choice of bars and restaurants as well, this village is certainly worth a visit.
We also visited the rock of Gibraltar, where we enjoyed the breathtaking views on our trip to the top...and the monkeys were an interesting experience! Thank you again for your guidance on where to park and what to visit, it certainly helped to maximise our day out. We also visited Marbella and took a street train ride, which gave us a highlight tour of the town, including the promenade. Puerto Banus was so nice, with its lovely marina and stunning boats, which has emphasised the fact that we need to continue with the weekly lottery to realise a dream! We also went to the Wednesday market, which had a great choice of goods. We also had the added bonus of a visiting circus in La Cala, which we enjoyed one evening. All that remains to be said is 'thank you both' and we look forward to booking your apartment again.

Mr Cox, August 2008

Hi Michelle
What a wonderful time we had at Duquesa, the apartment was fantastic with everything we could ask for and a great setting. The whole booking process and holiday was hassle free from start to finish. Thank you very much for a great holiday. We hope to do business again soon!

Mr & Mrs Barden, May 2008

Dear Michelle
The apartment was beautifully clean with the beds freshly made for us. Heaven, especially as we arrived on a late night flight. When we drew back the patio curtains in the morning we saw the swimming pool and lush gardens. What a welcome for our first trip to Duquesa Village. It was also great having a fully fitted kitchen, as we didn't want to eat out all the time, so we were able to prepare proper meals the nights we stayed in. We still can't believe how cheap the apartment was, as it was the height of luxury. The photos do not do this location and apartment justice, so try it for yourself! We were so pleased with this holiday, we will definitely be coming back.

The Steel Family, April 2008

Hi Michelle & Alex
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at your apartment in Duquesa Village. The apartment is clean, spacious and has all the comforts of home. We really appreciated the extra touches, such as the DVD library and board games. We will definitely recommend the apartment to friends and sincerely hope to return again next year.
